The most powerful fat loss method - The Zig-Zag

Every time you cut your caloric intake below your maintenance level, it doesn't take long before
your body reacts to the deficit and slows down your metabolism so that fewer calories are burned.
The larger the deficit in calories and the longer the deficit is sustained, the bigger the drop will be in
your metabolism.

Your body is an astonishing machine that can adapt to any situation or environment. Your body does everything to stay in a state of perfect balance and will always try to resist your efforts to change.
Luckily, there's a way to trick your body into keeping your metabolic rate up while you're in a calorie deficit for fat loss: It’s called the Zig-Zag-method, and without question  it is the most efficient fat burning technique ever discovered.

You must be in a calorie deficit to lose fat, but what you don’t want is a big deficit for a long period of time, as I covered on my earlier post. The way to trick your otherwise smart bodys starvation response is this: you drop your caloric intake for a period of three days, then, before your body tries to go into starvation mode – you raise your calories back up to maintenance level (or even above maintenance) for one to three days.
Then simply repeat this process until you reach the goals you have set in terms of losing fat.

The reason to this is: when your calorie deficit is kept up for more than three days, that’s when your
body senses something is wrong, and your metabolic rate starts to slow down. By lifting up your
calories every fourth day, you give a spike to your metabolism and the starvation mode never has a
chance to kick in.

Here’s an example on how to use the zig-zag-method

You can use two different kind of days –
You keep high and low calorie days. On low calorie day, you should preferably cut your calories
about 15-25% below your maintenance level.  On high calorie day, you eat calories as much as
your maintenance level requires or even little over it. That way the metabolism doesn't slow down
and you keep burning the fat away

You will then “cycle” your calories on a three days down, one day up rotation as follows:

Basic “zig zag” rotation:
Low calorie days (15-25% below maintenance): 3 days
High calorie days (maintenance level): 1 day

Adjustments in calories may need to be made because what fits to someone else, doesn't necessarily produce the same results on you. So some experimentation might necessary before you find what's
best for you. For example, to even faster fat loss, you could create a bigger deficit of about 25-30%
for the low days and a 10% deficit on the high days. 30% is a large reduction, but as long as you raise
your calories enough every fourth day, your metabolism won’t be affected. Important thing to
remember is: keep the core 3-1 ratio at all times, and you will get the results you want!

As said earlier, the Zig-Zag.method is the most effective technique for fat loss ever discovered!
It also happens to be one of the best-kept secrets of the competitive bodybuilders and fitness
models. Bodybuilders and fitness models frequently use this technique before competitions to drop
their body fat levels to the single digits. This method is also effective if you've hit a dead end in losing
fat, or want to accelerate slow fat loss,  and also prevents slow metabolisms from slowing down even
more!

So, to lose fat, the starve-yourself-method is not the way. You need to drop your calories in
moderation, and remember to bring them back up for every fourth day. Combine this with
exercising and your determination, you will surely get the lean figure you've always wanted!
